Small minds discuss people.
Average minds discuss events.
Real minds discuss ideas.
It is a thoughtful proverb by an unknown author since 1948. It was written in the library of our school. I had read it several times and thought about it often. It did not hold so much of significance at that point of time. But today, when I think about it, it seems an invaluable group of words.
While thinking, discussing and judging other people we are wasting our quintessential energy which could be utilized productively in creating something better. Sometimes, discussing about people and events is inevitable. But, its the consistent and habitual discussions that are detrimental to the functions of a mind. Because mind is dumb. It really believes and does what we ask it to. So why not sharpen and use our own will to make a real mind discussing ideas!
